Program & Benefits
It’s hard to be a kid.
They are constantly exposed to ideas that can compromise the quality of their mental health including illness or isolation due to the COVID-19 pandemic, violence in the media or at home, a chaotic home life, bullying, lack of role models, exposure to substance abuse, or just learning to get along after a disagreement. Supporting adults play a critical role in redirecting bad behaviors, teaching stress management, and providing a trusted source of encouragement.
About Our Program
We created Goober’s Friends to help kids develop good coping habits when they feel big feelings or encounter tough situations. Our active, kid-friendly approach supports positive emotional development, conflict resolution, and discourages violence and substance abuse. Our programs are geared toward kids ages 4-12. We help them recognize their feelings, make healthy choices, and understand the feelings of others.
Goober helps unite children through fun, trust, and empathy, curating a safe environment for them to learn about social and emotional health and to gain confidence in navigating life. We teach them how to recognize troublesome signs and how to seek help when needed--whether that is for themselves or for a friend.
You can schedule Goober programs in 45, 60, or 75-minute blocks. We serve schools, youth development, and child-enrichment programs across the United States. We love to involve your familiar school counselors or social workers as well as our own licensed therapist at your request. Based on your age groups and your school’s unique SEL objectives, we’ll work with you to construct a program that includes singing and dancing with Goober and a combination of the topics below…
Your program may include:
Defining different feelings and emotions
Ways to maintain a positive mindset
Hands-on exercises to promote empathy and understanding
Personal testimonies
Interactive Q&A

Topics we discuss:
